W.
D. GANN’S MARKET FORECASTING SYSTEM CRACKED!
Nuggets from my Research – Volume 1
The Law of Vibration
by the Patterns
The intent of this course is to teach the
principles of Theoretical Wave Mechanics as an introduction and foundation to
Gann’s Law of Vibration. The theory of Wave Mechanics views market
action as the composite of multiple underlying component waves, or cycles, that
are harmonically combined to create patterns and structures in the markets.
When the underlying elements of these patterns are understood, they can be used
to determine the cause behind market and to project the expected outcome which
follows.
INTRODUCTION & OVERVIEW
This
first volume in a four-part series lays the foundations for the understand of
the science of W. D. Gann’s Law of Vibration. Patterns is really the
“introductory” volume to the series, because it does not yet present Dr.
Bennett’s breakthrough insights into Gann Theory, but lays the groundwork
required to understand the higher insights when they are presented in Volume 2,
Numbers. However, Patterns is still a deep and
valuable course, filled with information and tools that most analysts have
never seen before.
Patterns is based upon an exercise originally presented by Dr.
Jerome Baumring in the 1980’s as an essential first step in the
development of an understanding of how underlying wave components, or cycles,
are combined to produce a composite or summational wave. The theory states that
financial markets are comprised of such structural components, much like a
Fourier model, where these underlying waves or cycles combine to create the
phenomena we see as “the market.”
And
understanding of how to measure and derive these component waves from a
composite pattern, is critical for any kind of insight into cycle analysis.
This course teaches this process of analysis and understanding through the
initial use of Theoretical Wave Models, beginning with simple 4-wave models,
and then advancing on to more complex 5 and 6 wave models, which begin to
create composite wave structures that very closely model recognizable market
movements.
The
reader is taught through this primer to understand the relationship of the
underlying composite waves, and the harmonic relationships that such waves will
generally have in nature and the markets. From this insight, the reader then
learns how to reverse engineer a composite model to dissect the underlying
waves, to determine their lengths, and other mathematical variables. Once this
is done, it is possible to begin to track individual cycles as they run through
the charts, thereby enabling the analyst to forecast short term turning points,
as well as general trends and major highs and lows.
Understanding
the relationship of underlying composite waves is critical to a higher form of
Gann science, the art of pattern recognition. After the text lays the general
foundations of wave mechanics theory, it then proceeds to develop a vast
collection of varied composite waves in order to build a catalog of every
possible composite patterns, which can be used to identify patterns in the
markets, so as to understand exactly what is occurring on the underlying scale
when we see these now familiar patterns. When one learns to recognize these
patterns, and the mechanics behind them, one can them begin to know what to
expect following them, since we know what the underlying wave structure
implies. Familiar patterns present tell-tale signs of what is to come, at least
for those who know how to read them.
These
principles are critical to the understanding of Gann’s Law of Vibration, since
vibration itself is nothing but an expression of harmonic components in nature
that interrelate to produce conjoined effects in any potential medium of
expression. To learn to read these mathematical relationships can provide an
insight into the causes and effects of many, if not all, elements in natures.
Our life itself is governed by cycles that contain basic rhythms and periods
that determine the flow of our lives.
Our days
are determined by the rotation of the Earth and the morning, noon, evening and
night that produces the 4 ¼ cycles of our day. Our months are composed of the 4
¼ cycles of the moon progressing through its 4 phases, new, 1st
quarter, Full, 3rd quarter, one for each week, determining our
months, except for the human error in calendar creation, which attempts to
unevenly force 13 yearly full moon cycles into an artificial 12 cycle
schedule. The Mayans understood this,
and one of their 19 calendars provides a 13-moon template of equal months tied
to the lunar cycle.
Our years
our divided into 4 seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, again as the result
of even cyclical movements, which few may understand well, but which control
all our lives from birth until death. The sun produces an 11-year Sun Spot
Cycle which influences our weather, our markets, and many more subtle things
yet to be understood by “the public”. And many other longer cycles can easily
be illustrated, like the 7-year cycles which seem to determine our life phases
with an uncanny logic than few can deny once investigated.
The point
is that our life experience is dominated by unknown underlying forces or cycles
that conjoin for a mass effect that is our experience of life. Similarly do the
markets respond to such influences, and to understand them, just like to
understand ourselves, we must see, know, measure and predict those forces. This
course teaches us to read these underlying influences in the markets, not by
studying any kind of cycles or causes, but by simply looking at the composite
phenomena and then breaking down its components to read and predict into the
future.
The first
half of this course explains the technicalities, process and principles of wave
mechanics in great detail, and lays out how this phenomenon controls the
structures behind the market. The second half of the course shows what to do
with these principles and how to apply them in the markets.
Rather
than elaborate each application here, I simply refer you to the Table of Contents to see
the very specific concepts and subjects that are presented, in relationship
this base theme of wave mechanics. If you are not immediately clear what these
ideas are and how they are applied, then you can rest assured that the material
in this course will be new and useful to you.
3 APPLIED FORECAST TYPES
As we
progress from the theoretical section to the applied, Dr. Bennett shows how
these principles can be used to generate 3 entirely different forecasting
processes, which are more advanced than what is understood by most technical
analysts. These powerful tools create 3 noncorrelated types of forecasts
generating different projection results which can be cross-correlated to
strengthen confidence in one’s market expectations:
1.
Forecast Type 1 – This approach takes the analysis of a
particular interval or multiple underlying intervals and shows how to project
those time periods forward into the future to determine potential turning
points based upon these cyclical progressions. This is a very valuable tool,
and though quite simple in its conception, once you understand the fundamentals
of this work, it provides valuable reversal indications in any market.
2.
Forecast Type 2 – This type of forecast identifies
similar sections in the market based upon their wave mechanically determined
intervals or periodicity. It then allows the user to select segments of past
market history which most ideally model current price action. There are
multiple layers of complexity that both determine and refine this type of
forecast, but the ultimate output provides and actual turn-by-turn forecast for
any market using past date to project future outcomes.
3.
Forecast Type 3 – Composite Wave Projections. These are
a much more sophisticated type of forecast model, but clearly explain how Gann
made many of his most famous forecasts like his 1929 Forecast of the Stock
Market. This also explains exactly what Gann was doing with his Master
Forecasting Charts, and teaches how to create and use Master Forecasting Charts
for any market. These models take sophisticated composite inputs and correlate
them to produce forecasts for the future. There is a trick to creating such
forecasts, which is determined by understanding the wave intervals so as to properly
know the elements that require combination for the required output. This
forecast type, with Dr. Bennett’s explanation, will allow the reader to
recreate many of Gann’s most famous forecasts from the past. Not only does she
explain how to do it, but she provides software that makes it easy to do it for
any historical or current period in any market.
There are
many more fascinating tools and elements presented in the text, like a
recreation of Marechal’s famous stock market prediction in the 1930’s, comments
about how Alan Andrews’ Pitchfork tools can be better applied understanding
wave mechanic theory, numerous principles out of physics and engineering that
can be easily applied to the markets once this theory is understood, and much,
much more. Again, I refer you to the Table of Contents for full
details.
MARKET FORECAST TO TRACK
& TRADE IN REAL TIME
Dr.
Bennet includes forecasts of 7 different markets in this introductory course,
showing how to look at each market from this wave mechanical perspective, and
illustrating how to use the principles in the book to analyze, forecast and
trade these markets. She elaborates numerous further specific applications that
derive from this perspective, from Angles of Attack, to Reflective Angles, to
interval measurement and projection and much more. Again, rather than list them
all here, I direct you to again to the Patterns Table of Contents.
The
markets discussed in this course include the Dow, Silver, Bonds, Soybeans,
Wheat, Corn, and Crude Oil, and since the course has been released, on the Online
Forum, she has begun a new analysis of Coffee, USDEUR, and metals and miner
stocks. She also plans to begin analysis of a few of stocks as well, to
demonstrate these principles across many markets. Analysis of all of these same
markets will be continued in each of the following courses, and on each of the
progressive Online Forums, so that as the series progresses, the student’s
understanding of each market will grow as he learns to apply the newly learned
techniques to the same markets.
ONLINE FORUM
A
fundamental element included with this course is membership in the Patterns Online Forum, which provides a
classroom environment where Dr. Bennett can present and further develop the
theories presented in the book, while illustrating the applications through real-time
market analysis and forecasting. This will take the theoretical presentation
included in the Textbook and make it real through the application to market
analysis.
This
classroom will be an interactive environment where students can ask ongoing questions
to be sure they understand every detail, and engage in research and discussion
among themselves to digest and master the subjects. These discussions and
presentations will be preserved forever, so that later students can benefit
from the Q&A of those who came before them. The Forums will also provide an
environment where group analysis of the markets studied in the textbooks can be
discussed, updated and traded as time progresses.
Dr.
Bennett is extremely generous in her online teaching, and provides long and
detailed answers to student’s questions, supported by detailed charts and Excel
spreadsheets. She is constantly coming up with ideas as to how to better
present her ideas, and has recently asked if we could use video to walk through
analyses so as to make it clearer.
She
also just began analysis of a fresh new market that she has never looked at
before, the EURUSD, and will use this market as a tutorial to walk everyone
from step one through a full analysis of this entire market, with the result of
producing a forecast. With the book only having been pre-released for 4 weeks
to the first 75 students, the Forum already has over 500 Q&A posts, an
indication of how active this Forum will be!
THE IMPORTANCE OF WAVE
MECHANICS – (COMMENTS BY DR. BENNETT)
This Wave Mechanics
exercise helps to bring you to the understanding of how the interval of time
can play out in a chart, where to look for it if it disappears, and how to
identify when your cycles have hit a true repeat point. Once you know that,
then you can get the repeating points in the market. Baumring did not have all
the interval structure but did have a lot of it. But you must have this base
knowledge to be able to tease apart the cycles into their individual threads
and then follow them in the chart.
The
bulk of my work is based on this process (wave mechanics) and understanding the
shifting of the waves at the nodes and how to apply intervals in the markets
using idealized waves. Hurst does something similar, to a point, but I am
attempting to present Baumring here as his lesson provides a strong basis for
the Law of Vibration as Pure Numbers. There are only 13 numbers you must have
to make all stock and commodity market cycles work. Hurst has only 2, if memory
serves correctly.
At
one point, I realized that this exercise was the first step in the development
of the Law of Vibration, a critical step that few ever do. I need this
knowledge to be well understood by everyone who studies my series, so that when
the next book, Numbers, comes out,
most will have an idea of how to use what I am about release. I am preparing to
release, in Law of Vibration by the
Numbers, the 13 Sacred Numbers and the natural law/logic behind them. But
no one would know how to use those numbers unless they had worked through this
lesson from Baumring’s course. This book is the primer for putting those
numbers into wave form using a simple mathematically sequenced wave structure
to teach it.

ON BAUMRING & WAVE MECHANICS
FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
Q:
HOW MUCH TIME AND EFFORT WILL I HAVE TO APPLY TO USING WAVE MECHANICS
ONGOINGLY?
A: After working with
the Waves, the Numbers and the Planets, I can work thru a new market in a
couple of hours. The Key is coming in NUMBERS. Once you have that “numbers”
skill, then a lot of the time that is taken up pounding on the charts is
reduced. But you must be able to identify the waves that correlate to the
numbers! That is why this book is first. Then once you have a number, you will
have a planetary setup to follow and study.
Often, I can take a point and have the
Main cycle and 2nd cycle in about an hour or less. That is why the Law of
Vibration is the key to getting an understanding of the market. But you do have
to develop each skill one step at a time. The thousands of hours I spent on the
charts was what it took to pull out the LOV. Getting a grip on it would have
been less if I had what is in NUMBERS and PLANETS first.
And Yes, I use the wave mechanics all
the time, it is not just some theoretical exercise that is later laid aside
when you understand the more advanced material. If one cannot read the waves,
you will not be able to see the interactions of the Dominant, Secondary and
other waves playing together, and you will not be able to apply the later steps
which come in Numbers, Planets and Geometry in your analysis. Understanding the
wave mechanics is critical to the entire Law of Vibration analysis!
Q:
IS THIS MATERIAL SUBJECTIVE?
A: NO! It is fully
reproducible by others. Everyone will produce the same analytical result, and
if not, they are doing it wrong. I have
an associate who understands this work to a strong degree from years of being
my bouncy board and working a lot of this thru with me. He now makes forecasts
for a few banks based on a small portion of the LOV that he has thoroughly
mastered, with an occasional utilization of all the LOV when he gets stuck.
You will not have to use all of the
pieces all of the time, and most will develop the techniques in these books
with their own personal flair. But the underlying knowledge is the same. I move
thru all the techniques I am showing, as it is now second nature, but in truth
I use NUMBERS most of the time, and PLANETS when necessary, with a great skill
of seeing the underlying wave structures.
Q:
WILL IT BE OUTMODED?
A: Now that is the beauty of what you are
learning... what is working today worked in the 1700's until now as well. I
also use a lot of this knowledge in forecasting world events other than just
the markets. I took a few years away from the markets to prove that what I knew
was real, with the assumption that if it worked elsewhere, it was real. It
works elsewhere as well. So, then I came back to the markets with what I had
learned, and the increased skill, and found the markets very easy to work
with.
Q:
DO YOUR FORECAST HAVE HIGH LOW HIGH LOW SEQUENCE?
A: There are 3 Forecast Types that are in the 1st
volume: Type 1 are projected dates of expected turns based upon similar wave
sequences which do give the expectation of it being a high or low, a Type 2
Forecast is a wave tracing, or market model, which gives an actual road map, or
picture of expected directions, and the Type 3 is a true Gann based forecast
showing how he looked back to prior time cycle points to generate a future
forecast model, which were what we often saw as his published forecasts, like
the one for 1929.
Q:
DO YOU COVER INVERSIONS OF CYCLES IN YOUR COURSE?
A: Inversions are covered first in Volume 1
through an understanding of wave mechanics which will demonstrate that not
every seeming inversion actually is one at all. Inversions are usually missed
cycles caused by a weak understanding of underlying cycles. But this does not
mean that there are not real inversions. These will be covered in the 3rd
book of the series, Planets, as real inversions have particular influences that
cause them, which will be taught as to how to read and determine.
Q:
DOES EACH FORECASTED TIME CYCLE PIVOT ALSO HAS A MATHEMATICAL PRICE POINT?
A: Numbers, Volume 2, will go into the price
points very intensely, with additional understanding coming in the 3rd
Volume. The first volume is an introduction to wave theory and mechanics to lay
the foundation for the following books. Book 1 does not discuss price but only
waves and their structure and how to project waves forwards. It is an
introductory book. The real meat is in Books 2, 3 and 4. But by using
the techniques in Book 1, you will be able to determine expected trend
direction and overall wave structure. It was not my intention to touch on
price in Book 1. It is mostly time, but Book 2 goes very deeply into
price.
Q:
CAN THE NUMBERS SYSTEM BE USED FOR INTRADAY TRADING?
A: Yes it can be used intraday, but I am holding
the time frame to the upper ones to keep people out of the weeds. I have an
intraday system that is based upon other principles than the Law of Vibration
and Brad and I are discussing releasing a book in between Vol 2 and 3 on
intraday timing techniques for those looking for a purely intraday system.
Q:
IF EVERYONE LEARNED THIS KNOWLEDGE, WOULD IT MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO TRADE?
A: One thing I am learning is that the different
levels of learning and variety of markets will prevent what I would call
saturation. That and we are discussing limiting the higher books to under
100 sold, or perhaps considering only making 100 available every 10 to 20 years. That
way, as people retire, they can be replaced by others, as I doubt these books
will every become available on the open market. We have too much security
in place for pirating and controls on access to them. There are a few of the
lesser books that I am going to write that will not be limited, but the LOV
books will be limited. The first edition could be limited to 100 -200
copies, and you must have the first to get the next and so on. This is my way
of preventing this from just getting out there.

"Patterns"
arrived last week. The material is outstanding! I appreciated the meaning of the Publisher’s
Introduction. It is an
invitation to the reader to live this experience of knowledge’s raising in
search of the lost Prisca Sapientia (Ancient Wisdom). It is a premise for a
higher and more dignified sense of expanding one’s own awareness in the
comprehension of Reality. In ancient times, science and metaphysics were
holistically linked, studied and practiced together.
The dichotomy
between these two aspects of the same Manifestation (Reality) was introduced in
the 5th century before Christ with the advent of Aristotle who spread the
concept in Western thought of the separation of the "I" from the
"Other", between subject and object. It is from this period that the
split between science and religion began during what Hesiod called the Age of
Iron, and with it the beginning of the loss of Ancient Wisdom. I can see how
these Ancient principles come alive in Lorrie’s book when considering their
relationship to the higher purpose of Gann Theory. Outstanding interpretation!
It is a noble goal that you seek!

This is some heavy shit, and not at all what I expected. (Not really sure
'what' I expected...) It makes me laugh out loud to think that this is simply
the 'prep' volume, which anticipates the 'heavy' material. Whoa! I actually did
the Fourier series thing decades ago. Spent a thousand hours programming in
'C'. Results were garbage. But hey.... now I know why… I detect that
Lorrie's mind runs at Mach 10. Her writing style reflects this. VROOOOOM
Go!

Firstly, your book has confirmed for me that most of what I
thought about Gann's methodology was correct... I just didn’t have a grasp of
the language and processes underlying it! For that insight alone, I thank you,
but now I cannot die happy, because I need to understand the rest! I’m
reading through Patterns, and I'm getting the impression that when you said it
was a primer, it is a primer. I couldn't change gears smoothly until I
knew how a clutch system worked. Once I knew how my foot worked the pedal
disengaging the drive wheel, it was plain sailing! This feels a bit like
that. Would it be fair to say that you've not given us the working model,
but a way of viewing the model and its parts in operation? We can see them
working, but we don't yet know how they are driven and how the pieces fit
together creating market movements. With that in mind, I will be moving
onto Numbers.
